I was born in one of the most breathtaking places on Earth, the province with the perfectly cone-shaped Mayon Volcano in the Philippines. I am a post graduate medical intern by profession but writing and sharing inspiration is my passion. I am glad to have created an online space of my dream chasing adventures and a community where I give golden tips and tell stories for those who desperately want to live a life filled with passion and purpose.

This seven-year old blog has reached 35 countries and up to this day I am grateful that more people are getting on the train of consciously achieving goals. What I dream of is for more women (and men) to feel empowered and driven to slay goals and create a life that they genuinely love. I am committed to share this message to the widest audience possible so stay tuned for my weekly surprises.

Katey, how did you start all of this?

I’ve always competed in writing competitions as a kid but I didn’t remember loving it. All I know was whenever I write, I instantly feel better. Writing became my best friend especially through my battle with trauma and mental health issues.

I did everything right. I got good grades, got in my dream school, and always did what society has expected of a good daughter, but the longing for something more has always lingered. I graduated with a degree in Biology and originally planned to pursue medical school but since finances were tight I had to make a choice and that was to make ends meet because our family badly needed it. I taught Science in a Catholic University but I felt that something is missing even if I know that I was doing meaningful work plus, debts needed to be paid and I have to help or else how can our family survive? I decided to become an Overseas Filipino Worker.

I taught in Bangkok for almost two years. Being an OFW stretched my capabilities. I learned how to hustle and be fiercely independent. The pressures, homesickness and challenges led me back to writing my very first blog post. Blogging became both a healing and spiritual experience.

I went back to the Philippines because I realized that money doesn’t make sense when you’re all alone in your apartment during Christmas Eve. Meditation and journal-ling showed me what was really important.

I worked for a bank as a customer service executive for a year and then I got an opportunity to pursue my first love which is medicine. How that miracle happened is all written here. Everytime I wake up, I feel an utmost sense of gratitude for this miracle.

Everything made perfect sense. As Steve Jobs said, “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.”

Just like you, my lovely reader, I am still in the process of carving the path that was destined for me. So, I want you to be brave enough to tell your story and live your truth. Life will never be easy nor fair but, each one of us has a worthwhile story to tell. That is all I ever want to achieve in this digital space, to make you realize that your story and truth matters. And also to instill in you that your presence in this universe is much needed and you definitely have something special to bring on the table.

As I train to become the best medical doctor that I can be, I also want to impart the knowledge and wisdom that I’ve learned from all those adventures and guide you to your destiny.

What do I want to teach you? I want you to realize your full potential. I want you to be unapologetic about who you are. I want you to be happy and bring whatever gift you have on the table. I want you to get out of the box that society has put you in. I want you to believe that healing from a traumatic past is possible and that a better future is attainable.

This belief has led to more of my readers feeling better about themselves and believing that success and overcoming fear is possible.

As more people give feedback, I get more inspired to write and widen this platform. Even if just one person has a shift in perspective, I know that I have done a good job. I can say to myself that I’ve made a difference in this world no matter how tiny it is. I believe all good deeds add up.

Is this blog a business? Yes, eventually I have to monetize because I need to pay the bills too. I need money as a vehicle to create more valuable content and make even more profound change in this world. But, for the past eight years all of my content has been absolutely FREE.

Again, I am not perfect. Just like you I am also building my dreams. I also fail and make mistakes. Be that as it may, I am absolutely committed to bringing out the best in you my lovely reader. Why? Because we only have one life and that’s it. We owe it to God or the Universe to exhaust everything that was given to us.
