Being in your twenties is indeed confusing. You’re trying to figure out exactly what you’re going to do in this world. Will you obey your parents’ wishes or your own? For some of you, you may have been bestowed with an obligation to your family, hence no freedom to pursue your passions.
It’s really puzzling and it is a roller coaster ride. probably most of the time. But please do remember these things while traversing your path.
1. Relax.
You don’t need to get everything figured out. In fact, you will never be able to plan your whole life. No matter how much you do, some things will still get ugly and out of control. But you don’t have to be anxious all the time. Breathe. Time has a way of solving things and you worrying doesn’t help. So just relax and know that everything will be okay.
2. Know yourself.
All of us are products of our genes, plus the environment in which we grew up in. Sometimes it’s hard to know what we really want when there are tons of people trying to force what they think is best for you. Learn how to listen to your own desire, not your parents’, aunts, uncles, or friends. It should be what you want.
3. Spend time on what matters.
The biggest mistake that one could make is being so busy with life that you forget to spend time with the people you love. Remember that life is short. Even if you’re still young, you are not exempted from death. So use your time wisely. Yes, your career is important but you can’t bring your money and fame six feet under the ground.
4. Get up when you fall down.
This is probably one of the hardest things to do depending on your circumstances. But being in your 20s is the age where so many changes can happen. This is the time when you will meet different sorts of people, probably fall in love, start a family, or build your career or empire. You will also experience challenges, some of which could be traumatic. It’s your job and not anybody else’s to pick yourself up. You will realize how hard life can be. But, you will also be stronger and wiser.
5. Hope.
Having faith and trust that everything happens for a reason is so important. Hope is what you can hold on to especially in difficult circumstances. So practice your faith muscles and do the work. Eventually something good will come out of it. You just have to hustle and keep going.
Goodluck twenty something millenials. It’s gonna be a wild ride but it’s going to be worth it.
